There are simple batteries and rechargeable batteries too. The simple batteries will work for long, but you cannot charge them. Once there charge comes to an end you need to change that. However, the companies always suggest to not to use the rechargeable batteries. Usually a battery can work from 15days to 6months. After that, you need to change the batteries with a pair of new batteries. This whole period is known as battery life. You will get the first pair of batteries with the mouse while purchasing.
